Well, since Jeff Kinney, the author of the books, is the creator of Poptropica, they just had to create this event, it seems! Fun fact: The first Diary Of A Wimpy Kid book came out in April.

To celebrate, Poptropica gave us a yellow Wimpy Kid shirt:

And they also gave non-members access to the 2 Wimpy islands, along with 300 credits, double the credits, for first time finishers of them.

I think it's an okay update, I do like that us non-members get to play the islands. But, I still kind of wish they were available to all in the first place... probably just me.

It seems like they listened to the requests for islands open to all: first the unlocking of Charlie and the Choclate Factory, then the March Madness event, then this. Is this their 'sorry, Poptropicans' gift? Maybe sometime there'll be an event for Nabooti or Big Nate.

I kind of wish there was something else rather than the Wimpy T-shirt, something like the Paper boy and Paper girl items, which were Wimpy-esque items Poptropica gave to members. Maybe that's also just me!
